This past weekend was China’s famous Qing Ming Jie Holiday, also known as Tomb Sweeping Holiday. It is an important day to offer sacrifice to ancestors. The holiday started in the Zhou Dynasty and has a history of over 2500 years. In the streets, one will see many people burning a paper offering with incense. There is so much culture here and it is very interesting to learn about it. Most of the time, due to a language barrier, I find out about things after I get back to the dorms and search for answers online. Thoroughly enjoying this time here in Dalian and loving the constant adventure.
