Is math your favorite subject? Whether your answer is yes or no, you will find our tutors to be helpful. Tutoring is offered on a drop-in basis; no appointment is necessary. You can come in with just a question or two, or sit down for a longer discussion.
Writing tutoring is available for writers at all stages of composition for all papers across the curriculum.
The Grizzly Tutoring Lab is a good place to get a second set of eyes to make sure you’re meeting your teacher’s requirements. Tutors will help students make sure what they mean to say comes across in the paper and will help students learn how to fix any minor sentence-level errors that may exist in their papers.
Writing tutoring is available both face-to-face and online. For face-to-face tutoring, students will meet with tutors in the Grizzly Tutoring Writing Lab (Melton 102) for drop-in tutoring. Students can also make an appointment for tutoring by calling 417-255-7942 or 573-255-7290.
For online tutoring, students can send their paper to the Online Writing Lab and get feedback in their email in-boxes within 24 hours.
Students can also contact the Writing Lab by using Tutor Talk for a quick question or long-distance, real-time session.
The Grizzly Tutoring Lab organizes supplemental instruction (SI) study groups for a variety of classes, including Biology, Chemistry, History and Political Science. Meeting times are available in Melton 102. If you would like to start a study group for a course not listed, please contact the Grizzly Tutoring Lab.
Promoting Academic Success with Student Athletes
Grizzly Tutoring Labs coordinates efforts to provide a supportive community of faculty, staff, and students. A study hall is supervised by a professional coordinator and trained tutors who lead study groups and help student athletes improve their study skills.
