Chancellor’s Update:
- As of census day, enrollment was 1.1% down, credit hours 3.7% down, and retention 6% up
- Child & family development program received a grant for the next four years to provide child care for students with children
- Donation received for the veterans department in Hass-Darr Hall
- Advisors from Springfield will be on campus for students obtaining a degree in child & family development
- Search committee for the chancellor has several staff representatives
- Joe Kammerer’s last day with the University is Oct. 31. Melody Hubbell will be the interim director until the position is filled. Cheryl Caldwell is the chair for the search committee
- The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) visit Nov. 6 & 7 and they will visit our China campus on Nov. 13. Nov. 2 will be a campus meeting for discussion
- Hass-Darr Hall is to be completed in early spring
President’s Report:
From the Administrative Council:
- Continuing education, non-credit Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program will begin October 30
- Advisement for Success Kick-off (ASK) week will be coming up
- Early registration begins Oct 30
- Title III grant was denied
- Flu shots October 20 & 31
- Information techonology (IT) director interviews are ongoing
- Director of development search is open
- Town hall meeting regarding search for the chancellor Oct 25 Melton 112
- It was suggested to watch the State of the University Address by Clif Smart.

Joe Kammerer suggested Staff Senate open an account for staff to enroll for payroll deduction at a minimum of $1 per pay period to help build funds

- Fall Annual Fund for Philanthropic Women for Education will have a review session Wednesday, Oct. 11
- P-Card Refresher training on Oct 6. Two sessions to choose from: 9:30-10:30 AM or 1:30-2:30 PM in Lybyer 204
- Appraisal and Development Plan (ADP) Training for all employees on Oct 20 from 9:00-10:00 AM or 10:30-11:30 AM in Lybyer 205. All full-time employees must register for one of these sessions through My Learning Connection
- ADP Supervisor training on Oct 20 1:30-3:30 PM
- Open Enrollment period is Oct 2 – Dec 1 for all full-time employees
