Chancellor’s Update:

  • Amphitheater grant
  • Hass-Darr progressing
  • United Way fundraiser will begin soon
  • Grizzly Basketball season opener this Friday & Saturday
  • Springfield Public Affairs live-streamed tonight Melton 211 at 7:00 PM

President’s Report:

From the Administrative Council:

  • CCAMPIS grant (Brenda Smith)

    • The grant will assist 30 low-income enrolled parents with childcare. Learning Tree is partnering with us.
  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC) (Michael Orf)

    • HLC visit Monday & Tuesday, November 6 & 7. Staff will meet with the team on Tuesday at 8:00 AM in Lybyer T104-105. Please attend if possible.
  • Faculty Senate Report (Mary Kellum)

    • Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) test will no longer be utilized. Replacing it will be an enhanced portfolio assessment (Chalk & Wire)
    • Respiratory care program will be discontinued
    • Changes are being made to the Faculty handbook to coincide with Springfield
    • Working group was formed to handle international issues
    • Watch for email & phishing attempts
    • Agreed that an increase in non-traditional students would help and a focus should be on recruiting those students
  • Appraisal and Development Plan (ADP)

    • ADP process has changed to an online format. Dr. Bennett will be sending out the timeline soon
  • Holiday Reception

    • Suggestions for the University Holiday Reception for Faculty & Staff
      • Thursday, December 7
      • Thursday, December 14
  • Budget Meetings

    • Budget meetings are taking place for 2018-2019
  • Hass-Darr Hall

    • Hass-Darr completion is projected for mid to late March
  • Banner Upgrades

    • Banner upgrades are scheduled for Saturday, Nov 4

  • Red Carpet day Friday, November 3 at Civic Center Theater at 9:30am
  • Grizzly Basketball games on Friday and Saturday at 7pm
  • Diversity Donuts on Monday, Nov. 6 from 5:30-7:00 in Melton 112
  • Friends of Garnett Library Fall Fashion Show & Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 17, 11:30-1:30 at West Plains Country Club
