It’s Thursday, and for my fellow students and me, that means that it’s “College Friday”. That means “College Weekend” starts tomorrow. It’s my 7th week of classes…and I’ve learned a lot. But the most painful lesson I have learned is that I never again want to do my homework at 3:00 a.m. I always blow off the weekend, and whatever else I have that Monday, which wouldn’t really take a lot of time to complete, gets put off.
This week, and the last, I explored some freedoms of college, such as not being forced to go to class and enjoying that bed until I felt like getting up. But on Tuesday, I was sitting at my desk, so stressed about missing assignments and all of my incomplete work that I had actually made myself sick. I quickly drove to Sonic to partake of a “Happy-Hour Cherry Limeade.” Yeah, you’re either thinking about going today, or despising my palate. ANYWAY…whilst sipping upon the fruity nectar that Sonic blessed me with, I made a decision that could forever change the way I approach college: I have to start doing my homework on “College Saturday” (that’s Friday for non-college folks.) I started really taking advantage of the tutoring lab which has become a beacon of hope for those who haven’t taken a math class for two years (me) and it’s free! I refuse to repeat math so I have to work hard now. It’s getting personal.
Lesson learned? Take advantage of “College Saturday” because “College Monday” will be here before you know it. I enjoy my sleep and I’m not going to sacrifice it anymore.
Thank Goodness it’s Thursday!
