Gettin’ out of the office.

As the Winter promises it’s return and Summer waves us goodbye, we, the students, start to settle into somewhat of a routine. Sleep, eat, class, homework, work; in some kind of order and often occurring at the same time. But also as we get deeper and deeper into the semester the homework starts piling up and the 8 page essay due 3 months from the start is now due the next week.

Sitting in your room, whether you have a house or you’re leasing a dorm, can be deadly. Personally after I’m in a room for over a few hours I start to look for any reason to leave. My escape comes in the form of something called Crossfit and with my gym not far from where I live, I really have no excuse for not going.

I was also suckered into something called the Tough Mudder, which is going down this weekend, but that’s not my point. My point is that after I get done working out, my mind is clear, I feel fresh, I can focus better on my work and the distractions aren’t as tempting.

To sum it up, I can’t stress enough to my fellow students how important it is to get out and get active. The habits you create now, independent of your parents, will be ones that you hold onto for the rest of your life. This is the peak of your health and you have to take advantage of your young and healthy heart!
