Twin Pines Conservation Center

Listing:

Family Fish Day - The public will join us at Twin Pines for a day of fishing, games, and fun activities. We provide lunch and give out prizes for the fish caught during that day.

Position:

Volunteer - Forms to participate as a volunteer are available at the Career Development Center, Looney 104

Skills:

We need volunteers to help that day with mending poles, baiting hooks, and showing new alglers how to fish, food, prep, games, setup, and tear down.

Twin Pines Conservation Center

Listing:

Wild Edibles - The public will learn how to identify and cook wild edibles that are found throught the Ozarks. They will begin with identification, go on a short walk to identify plants in the gardens and then return to cook their own wild edibles lunch..

Skills:

We use volunteers for the cooking portion to help make sure we have help where it is needed to move things in a timely manner.

Twin Pines Conservation Education Center

Heritage Day - This is our biggest event of the year! We have craftsmen and presenters from all over the region come out for a day with the public to teach them about Ozark traditions and crafts. We have music, many presenters and a fish sry. We work hard to make thie entertaining and enlightening for all who come, and we are always needing extra hands to make this happen

We use volunteers for setup, general help throughout the event and tear down.

37th Judicial CASA will offer training for volunteers

Listing:

Volunteer Recruitment Fair – Ozarks Medical Center

Listing:

Ozarks Medical Center will be hosting a volunteer recruitment fair on January 31, 2017 from 9:00a.m. to Noon. This event will be held at the OMC Parkway Center 1211 Porter Wagoner Blvd., West Plains

Position:

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet OMC volunteers and ask quesitons and discover the opportunities and benefits of volunteering.

Skills:

Necessary paperwork and screenings will be available at the fair to make it easy to join. Volunteer opportunities include positions at Guest Services, Out-patient surgery, clinic office support, courtesy shuttle, emergenty department, rehabilitation services, West Plains Thrift Store, Mtn. View Thrift Store, Gift Shop, Homecare Hospice, or as a volunteer chaplain.
