{"id":338,"date":"2014-01-17T16:39:11","date_gmt":"2014-01-17T16:39:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/?p=338"},"modified":"2014-01-17T16:39:11","modified_gmt":"2014-01-17T16:39:11","slug":"are-you-transferring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/2014\/01\/17\/are-you-transferring\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Transferring?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- InstanceEndEditable --><em><strong>Information for Transferring Students<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"content\">\n<div id=\"mainContent\" role=\"main\">\n<p>When applying for a student loan as a transfer student, it is important to\u00a0\u00a0 keep in mind that if you received a student loan at a prior school, you will not\u00a0\u00a0 automatically receive a student loan at your new school.<\/p>\n<p>If you completed the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fafsa.ed.gov\/\">FAFSA<\/a> during the\u00a0\u00a0 current academic year and you decide to transfer, your new school may require\u00a0\u00a0 you to provide a copy of your <a href=\"\/glossary.php#S\">Student Aid Report\u00a0\u00a0 (SAR)<\/a> &#8211; even if you did not receive financial aid at your previous\u00a0\u00a0 school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When you transfer, remember to do the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>At your old school<\/strong>: Cancel any outstanding loan\u00a0\u00a0 disbursements when you withdraw.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At your new school<\/strong>: Inform them\u00a0\u00a0 about the school you previously attended and provide your SAR. Additionally, if\u00a0\u00a0 you have not previously signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/studentloans.gov\/myDirectLoan\/index.action\">Federal Direct Loan\u00a0\u00a0 MPN<\/a>, you will be required to do so at your new school.
