More information is available from the office of financial aid. Here\u2019s a rundown of what\u2019s new.<\/p>\n<p>\t<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/FAFSA.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/FAFSA-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"fafsa\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/FAFSA-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/finaid\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2016\/09\/FAFSA.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fafsa.ed.gov\/\"><\/p>\n<h3>Start your FAFSA Oct. 1<\/h3>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Submit your application sooner<\/h2>\n<p>Students can file a 2017-2018 FAFSA as early as Oct. 1, 2016. This is a permanent change and will allow students to complete their applications before the start of the new year.<\/p>\n<h2>Sending income information is easier<\/h2>\n<p>Beginning with the 2017-2018 FAFSA, students and families will report their 2015 income information. This is a switch from the past, when the application required financial information from the previous year. That means most income information should not change from students\u2019 2016-2017 FAFSA.<\/p>\n<p>The most important part is to file as early as possible, as the priority deadline for state-funded programs such as the Access Missouri grant is now Feb. 1, 2017. Missouri State University \u2013West Plains\u2019s scholarship deadline is March 31, 2017.
