{"id":185,"date":"2026-04-06T16:35:02","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T16:35:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/grizzlynotes\/?p=185"},"modified":"2026-04-12T23:15:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-12T23:15:43","slug":"china-study-abroad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/grizzlynotes\/2026\/04\/06\/china-study-abroad\/","title":{"rendered":"China Study Abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Informational Meeting<br \/>\nMonday, April 13, 2 &#8211; 3 p.m.<br \/>\nLybyer Hall, Room 205<\/h4>\n<h2>Students can travel abroad while earning their associate degree<\/h2>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Have you dreamed of being able to travel to other countries, to experience other cultures, and to learn other languages? \u00a0Well, here is your chance! \u00a0You can do all of this while earning your associate degree through the China Study Abroad Program at the Missouri State University-West Plains campus in Dalian, China. \u00a0You will be provided round trip air fare and lodging, and financial aid or scholarship funds received through Missouri State University may be applied to this program.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>How to Learn More<\/h3>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Have questions about the program? Well, now is their chance to get those questions answered. Make plans to attend an informational meeting scheduled for <strong>April 13th from 2 to 3 p.m.<\/strong> in Lybyer Hall 205. Dr. Michael Orf, vice-chancellor of academic affairs, and others will give an overview of the trip and answer any questions you might have. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3>How to Apply<\/h3>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">To apply for the China Study Abroad program, you will need to submit:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">an application, <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">two letters of academic reference, and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">a statement of why you want to participate in this program. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">An interview is required. <strong>\u00a0The application deadline for the Fall 2026 China Study Away program is April 24th, 2026 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Applicants must be in good standing at Missouri State-West Plains and have completed at least 24 hours of college credit with a minimum GPA of 2.75. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Don\u2019t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.
