Chancellor’s Update: Dr. Shirley Lawler
- Dr. Lawler expressed how happy she is to be here. She is trying to meet everyone, learn names, and listening to thoughts and ideas.
- Planning for BOG meeting on campus, June 22, at 1pm.
- Hass-Darr projected completion date is mid-July.
- Looking forward to the completion of the amphitheater and the possibilities of usage.
- New Governor, Parsons is more supportive of public education, which should prove to be beneficial to us in regards to our budgets.
- Plans to explore the need for technical and Allied Health programs.
- Our focus: We need to grow our enrollment.
President’s Administrative Council Report:
- Third week of June, the business office plans to move to Kellett Hall.
- Reminder to check your financial approvals & timesheets.
- Lower level floors in Lybyer will be waxed June 9 & 10.
- Preparing for BOG meeting.

New Business:
- Employee Wellness Programs: Alyssa Collins is seeking suggestions for wellness programs to be offered on the West Plains campus.
- Yoga
- Water Aerobics
- Allotted time during the work days to attend wellness classes similar to what Springfield campus offers
- Allowances for Dr. visits without taking time off and using sick time, similar to what Springfield campus offers
- Discussions about self-defense classes. Scott Schneider stated if there is a minimum of 8 people interested in a class, he can arrange to have one offered
- Interest was also expressed regarding CPR / First Aid / AED classes
Old Business:
- Scholarship idea proposed by Rachel Peterson; tabled until after the new Chancellor is in place
Department/Committee Reports/Updates/Discussion:
- Diversity activity: Grayson shared Diversity Slice and Dice; Being aware of visible & invisible characteristics of the persons we serve.
- Trio: July 14 Adult Student Leadership Conference being hosted by TRiO on the West Plains campus. TRiO is also taking student applications for their program.
- Registration/Records: Summer term starts Monday, June 11.
- Outreach: Searching for Outreach Ambassadors.
- Student Life: Welcome Week posters available in print and online.
- Part-time employees: It was expressed that part-time employees would like to see a survey regarding their allowances on campus.
- Faculty/Frank Priest: Frank expressed his goal is to create more camaraderie among the faculty and staff. He will be exploring activities to accomplish this goal.
