{"id":2530,"date":"2026-04-09T13:01:48","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T18:01:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/staffsenate\/?p=2530"},"modified":"2026-04-09T13:01:48","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T18:01:48","slug":"staff-senate-meeting-minutes-4-9-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/staffsenate\/2026\/04\/09\/staff-senate-meeting-minutes-4-9-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Senate Meeting Minutes 4\/9\/26"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Date\/Location:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>April 9, 2026 &#8211; 10:30 a.m. in Melton 112 with Zoom option available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In Attendance<\/strong>: Trevor Cressman, Lauren Willis, Kileene Collins, Alexandra Graham, Joshua Gregory, Wayne, Cahoj, Mark White, Alyssa Collins, Emilie Brotherton, Sheila Sparks, Nina Williams, Justin Wade, Sophia Skinner, Lindsey Waggoner, Cedric Wooledge, Michelle Bryan, Melissa Jett, Krista Lair, Erica Puckett, Tanya Miller, Lora Davis, Cyneca Huddleston, and Rebekah McKinney. <strong>Participants via Zoom:<\/strong> Neva Parrott, Misty Davis, Sue Icenhower, and Barbie Mustion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approval of Agenda &#8211; <\/strong>Motion to approve by Michelle Bryan and seconded by Alyssa Collins \u2013 motion passed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approval of March Meeting Minutes \u2013 <\/strong>Motion to approve by Justin Wade and seconded by Lora Davis. \u2013 motion passed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chancellor\u2019s Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No updates this month<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Strategic Plan Update (Lindsey Waggoner)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Goal Work Groups are incorporating feedback into their final proposals.<\/li>\n<li>Our Mission, Vision, &amp; Values statements will be presented to the Board of Governors for approval, during their May meeting.<\/li>\n<li>The next interactive workshop will be on Friday, April 24 in Rec Center from 2-4 p.m. and Chancellor Mulligan will also give an HLC update at the end of the workshop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>President\u2019s Report (Trevor Cressman)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Spring Picnic for all employees will be on Friday, May 8 from 11 a.m. \u2013 1 p.m. at the Richard\u2019s House.<\/li>\n<li>This is Trevor\u2019s last meeting as President and officially turned his duties over to Lauren Willis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>President Elect Report (Lauren Willis)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Due to Lauren\u2019s upcoming paternity leave, and planning ahead, we need to vote on the next President Elect a little early:\n<ul>\n<li>Motion made for Wayne Cahoj and seconded \u2013 motion passed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Please let Lauren know if you have any ideas or changes you would like to see for future meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Secretary Report (Kileene Collins)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No report this month<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Treasurer Report (Alex Graham)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Christina Kerley is currently out of the office and as a result, Alex was unable to obtain how much we have in our account.<\/li>\n<li>Orf asked Alex to present: \u201cSetting up Watermark Progress Report\u201d\n<ul>\n<li>Watermark is our Assessment program<\/li>\n<li>Assessment Council\n<ul>\n<li>Staff\/Faculty Collaboration\n<ul>\n<li>Operations Manuals \/ Standard Operating Procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Surveys<\/li>\n<li>Change Stories<\/li>\n<li>Plans for improved documentation<\/li>\n<li>Institutional Learning Outcomes will be surveyed in the graduation survey for the first time in spring 2026<\/li>\n<li>Assessment Days Part 2\n<ul>\n<li>Will be meeting with as many faculty as possible to discuss course assessments\/planning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Questions:\n<ul>\n<li>Re: Faculty Dashboard \u2013 Is it possible to see who is teaching what classes, including dual credit? Ans: There should be reports available to view. &#8211; Located in My Grizzly Den on the Watermark Faculty Resources card.<\/li>\n<li>What happens with Co-Curricular reports after they are turned in? They will be logged and measured in Watermark by Dr. Totty.<\/li>\n<li>Will staff ever be involved with Watermark? Full-time employees can carry forward leave but only to a point. If your balance exceeds twice your annual allowance by June 30, you will lose those extra hours. Check your leave balance through the Employee Dashboard in MyMissouriState.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Medicare Session<\/strong>: A Medicare 101 educational presentation will be held Tuesday, April 28, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., in Hass Darr Hall 101.
