{"id":816,"date":"2013-07-22T19:42:19","date_gmt":"2013-07-23T00:42:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/staffsenate\/?p=816"},"modified":"2017-03-16T15:17:19","modified_gmt":"2017-03-16T20:17:19","slug":"staff-senate-meeting-minutes-20130919","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.wp.missouristate.edu\/staffsenate\/2013\/07\/22\/staff-senate-meeting-minutes-20130919\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Senate Meeting Minutes 2013\/09\/19"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Members Present:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Kileen Collins, Lu Adams, Scott Schneider,\u00a0Alyssa Collins, Grayson Gordon, Jill Stephens, Bill Brown, Sylvia Kuhlmeier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Call to Order:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Jill Stephens called the meeting to order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Approval of Minutes:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The minutes were approved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Chancellor\u2019s Update:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Kid&#8217;s College was a big success &#8211; 93 kids attended.<\/li>\n<li>College Express is coming up on July 23rd. \u00a0We are all recruiters and should encourage anyone thinking about school to talk to us.<\/li>\n<li>Governor Nixon has withheld money from higher ed including the $500K for the Allied Health program. \u00a0His veto of an income tax credit bill is pending override in the General Assembly. If the veto stands Gov. Nixon will release the money; if not he will withhold it. We should know something in September.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Old Business:<\/h3>\n<h3>Construction\/Demolition Updates:<\/h3>\n<p>Scott Schneider reported that various leak problems are being repaired. (Kellet Hall, Library, Rec Center). The library is beginning a remodel project to install some sliding shelving. The Pennsylvania House interior is being remodeled to open it up to a more classroom-like setting.\u00a0The AEL program will be housed there.\u00a0It should be complete in a couple of months.<\/p>\n<p>Personnel Searches:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Administrative Assistant II, University\/Community Programs<\/strong> (Full-Time Staff)<br \/>\nMarcie Struble starts 7\/24\/2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food Services Manager<\/strong> (Full-Time Staff)<br \/>\nBilly Castleberry starts 8\/01\/2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Director of Developmental Education<\/strong> (Full-Time Staff)<br \/>\nMichelle Branton starts 8\/01\/2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assistant Coordinator of Institutional Research-Effectiveness<\/strong> (Full-Time Staff)<br \/>\nPing He will start in August.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laboratory and Stores Supervisor, Natural Sciences<\/strong> (Full-Time Staff)<br \/>\nPhone interviews are scheduled for July 22-23.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lecturer, William and Virginia Darr Honors Program<\/strong> (Faculty, 9-Month Appointment)<br \/>\nOn-Campus interviews are scheduled for July 22-25.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geosciences<\/strong> (Faculty, 9-Month Appointment)<br \/>\nOn-Campus interviews were held on 7\/18\/2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assistant Professor of Agriculture<\/strong> (Faculty, 9-Month Appointment)<br \/>\nLinda Wulff-Risner starts 8\/12\/2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructor of Child &amp; Family Development<\/strong> (Faculty, 9-Month Appointment)<br \/>\nBrenda Smith starts 8\/12\/2013.<\/p>\n<p>Treasurer report:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Current balance is $157<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New Business:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Welcome Week needs to be planned and coordinated.
