Open enrollment is open until Dec.1.\u00a0 There are several things to do to make sure your benefits are in place for next year: 1) complete the Health Risk Assessment 2) log into My Missouri State and complete the benefit enrollment 3) complete enrollment in Cafeteria Plan (if participating) and 4) check W-4 and tax information to be sure your withholding is correct.<\/p>\n
Minimum wage will go up to $7.50 per hour on January 1, 2014.<\/p>\n
The Employee Recognition Luncheon will be on Friday, January 31st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n Joe Kammerer reminded us of the Future Alumni Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5.\u00a0 It will be in the lobby of Lybyer.<\/p>\n Also there is money in the annual fund and another cycle of requests may be submitted.<\/p>\n Dr. Lunday gave a special presentation on hostile intruders on campus.\u00a0 He emphasized that the intent of this training is not to scare, but to inform.\u00a0 He advised us to maintain a culture of watchfulness.<\/p>\n There are two videos on the My Missouri State website under Campus Safety:\u00a0 1) Run, Hide, Fight<\/em> (approx. 5 minutes long) and 2) Shots Fired<\/em> (approx. 20 minutes long).\u00a0 Both are excellent and everyone should watch and learn how to be better prepared in the event of an active shooter on campus.<\/p>\n These events happen very quickly and there is no script.\u00a0 The best way to survive is to have a survival mindset and to have a plan.\u00a0 Three easy mantras can help you survive an incident:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n RUN IF YOU CAN<\/p>\n HIDE IF YOU CAN<\/p>\n FIGHT IF YOU MUST<\/p>\n Once a situation has been identified, law enforcement will be notified and a campus wide alert will be issued.\u00a0 If you are safely outside the active area call 911 immediately.\u00a0 If you need help, call your supervisor, Dr. Lunday (24-7) or call law enforcement.<\/p>\n New safety procedures, including those for hostile intruders, will be posted in all the buildings on campus .<\/p>\n Be aware of your environment and have a plan for getting out of the situation.<\/p>\n Meeting was adjourned. \u00a0The next meeting will be December 13th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Darrell Hampsten called the meeting to order.
