    A new Grizzly Gear schedule for the 2026-27 academic year has been approved by the Administrative Council on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

    For every Monday and Friday of the 2026-2027 academic year, faculty and staff are encouraged to share #GrizzlyGearMonday and #GrizzlyGearFriday photos on social media or upload photos to the Grizzly Gear website.

    As stated in the policy, please be mindful of events that require a more professional attire, like the Board of Governors meeting in June.

    From June 22-26, middle school students will be on campus at MSU-WP to participate in Summer Scholars Academy.

    Celebrate Employee Appreciation Week: June 15-19

    It’s Employee Appreciation Week! We have several activities planned to recognize and celebrate the outstanding faculty and staff at Missouri State University–West Plains!

    Monday, June 15

    Show your MSU-WP pride by wearing your Grizzly Gear and joining us at the Smith-London Bell Tower at 4 p.m. for the annual faculty and staff group photo.

    Tuesday, June 16

    Recognize your colleagues by sharing photos and employee shout outs on social media using the official #GrizzlyShoutout hashtag.

    Wednesday, June 17

    As a special token of appreciation, human resources will distribute collector lapel pins to all full-time staff.

    Thursday, June 18

    Chancellor Mulligan invites all part-time and full-time employees to an ice cream social at 2 p.m. in the Carol Silvey Student Union. Join us for a sweet treat and an opportunity to connect with colleagues.
    To kick off the long weekend, employees will also enjoy an early release at 3 p.m., courtesy of President Biff Williams.

    The University will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. We hope you enjoy the holiday and the extended weekend.

    Summer Scholars on Campus!

    From June 8 – June 12, high school students will be on campus at MSU-WP to participate in Summer Scholars Academy. Middle school students will also be on campus attending Summer Scholars Academy from June 22 – 26.

    Please be aware of our guests and show them how great it is to be a Grizzly! #GoGrizzlies!!

    For those who would like to volunteer to help serve lunch from 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m., at the Grizzly Bite during Monday-Thursday of each camp, please email Workforce Development. Volunteers will receive a free lunch!

    Greetings from the MSU-West Plains Band,
    I’m excited to announce our annual Summer Concert on Thursday, June 11!
    Please join us for an evening of great music with musicians from across our region.
    This is a wonderful opportunity to recruit new members for our group. Please invite your friends, family, co-workers, and area high school students to participate. The time commitment is minimal, and all musicians who can read music and play at a high school level or above are welcome.

    Mark White Retirement Reception

    A reception honoring Mark White is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. in the Kellett Hall Parlor.

    Mark will retire after 15 years of dedicated service to the university.

    Arbor Day 2026 flyer

    For several years, Physical Plant has planted trees on campus to celebrate Arbor Day. This year, in celebration of Earth Day, on Wednesday, April 22, at 10 a.m., Physical Plant will plant a tree on the lawn between the Neurodiversity and Autism Center and the amphitheater located near the Smith-London Bell Tower.

    Everyone is invited to join in the celebration. The first 50 people to attend will receive a complimentary Redbud tree seedling. The event is free and open to faculty, staff, students and West Plains community.
