Minimum wage will go up to $7.50 per hour on January 1, 2014.

The Employee Recognition Luncheon will be on Friday, January 31st.

Joe Kammerer reminded us of the Future Alumni Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 5.  It will be in the lobby of Lybyer.

Also there is money in the annual fund and another cycle of requests may be submitted.

Dr. Lunday gave a special presentation on hostile intruders on campus.  He emphasized that the intent of this training is not to scare, but to inform.  He advised us to maintain a culture of watchfulness.

There are two videos on the My Missouri State website under Campus Safety:  1) Run, Hide, Fight (approx. 5 minutes long) and 2) Shots Fired (approx. 20 minutes long).  Both are excellent and everyone should watch and learn how to be better prepared in the event of an active shooter on campus.

These events happen very quickly and there is no script.  The best way to survive is to have a survival mindset and to have a plan.  Three easy mantras can help you survive an incident:

RUN IF YOU CAN

HIDE IF YOU CAN

FIGHT IF YOU MUST

Once a situation has been identified, law enforcement will be notified and a campus wide alert will be issued.  If you are safely outside the active area call 911 immediately.  If you need help, call your supervisor, Dr. Lunday (24-7) or call law enforcement.

New safety procedures, including those for hostile intruders, will be posted in all the buildings on campus .

Be aware of your environment and have a plan for getting out of the situation.

Meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting will be December 13th.
