Chancellor’s Report:
- Enrollment is down around 8%. Census date has been moved to allow more dual credit numbers. Hats off to the Admissions group, Dr. Orf, Records & Registration, Advisors, and all that have worked hard to increase our numbers
- Budget still in holding pattern waiting on federal government to fill holes due to Covid and will be able to update more during the State of the University address
- BOG retreat today in Springfield – some action Items for the year will be presented
- Maintaining operations & finances during the Pandemic
- Scheduling changes; Spring Break changed to March 8-12 pending BOG approval
- Covid Response Team update
- Looking into moving to a zero-based budgeting model, more information will be forthcoming
- Recruitment and Retention initiatives
- Looking at “What is our new normal?” more information will be forthcoming
- Looking into new programs and grants
- Diversity and Inclusion initiative led by Dr. Totty, to engage in tough discussions
- Looking at our campus profile – Grizzly Strong committee to share ideas later
- Continuing our collaboration with Springfield
- State of the University Sept 24 at 2pm, will be in person and all faculty & staff are invited while keeping offices open and operational. Masks will be required and social distancing will be followed
- Sept 24 at 10:30am, Clif Smart will meet with Staff, in person with a zoom option available
- Questions: Will the State of the University address be available to attend through Zoom?
- Not sure but will check into that capability. It will be recorded to view later
Covid Response Team Update: Scott Schneider
- The team meets weekly to review policies, procedures, and community initiatives
- They work with the State and County Health Departments to gather/share information regarding testing, contact tracing, etc…
- Scott is the centralized location to be contacted with information on known contact or cases
- Update to the masking policy in open office spaces such as Cass Hall and the IT department – While at your desk and at least 6’ apart, you do not have to wear a mask
- Covid-19 Dashboard & Information page, to track testing and cases, found on the University’s home page
- Q&A sheet was shared to assist us in giving guidance to those with questions

President’s Report:

- Oct 13 at 6pm was approved by the majority; Jared will sent out a zoom link prior to the event

- Mask Up Ozarks Campaign – Our university has joined with them in this effort
- MSU Performance Management for Supervisors. September 23rd– 9:30 to 11:30 am or 1:00 to 3:00 pm and this is also for those that supervise student employees
