Chancellor’s Report:
- Thanks to all for everything you do
- Rapid Covid tests are now available at Burton Creek for Faculty, Staff, and students, at no charge.
- President Smart and the Academic Council are proposing to the BOG, a pay increase of $600 to the base pay and if approved during their December meeting, it will go into effect in January
- Wishes all a Happy Thanksgiving and safe hunting to all the deer hunters
Covid Response Team Update: Brenda Polyard
- Gave the Howell County Year To Date report
- Campus numbers can be found on the Covid Information Page on our website
- The state of Missouri reached out for us to hold another community testing event – more information to follow
- Rapid tests are available at Burton Creek for faculty, staff and students but you must be symptomatic and follow the process as outlined in the email from our WP Safety dept
- Saliva based tests will be available in the near future – more information to follow
- Masking and Travel policies are being updated
- Q&A: In regards to the travel policy, are there any restrictions or stipulations in place for us at this time?
- No stipulations at this time, except for international travelers. Some states have stipulations in place so it is recommended you check those before traveling out of state
- Q&A: Is there a limit to the number of rapid tests a person can take advantage of, in case they become symptomatic multiple times?
- There is no limit to how many times a person can take a test but there is a limited number of tests. Once they are gone, we will have to go back to letting our insurance cover the cost but they would not be rapid tests

- Jeff Gettys – Springfield’s Staff Senate Representative:
o Committee looking into tuition fee waivers enhancements to include an increase to credit hours for full-time staff, expand equal benefits to multiple dependents simultaneously during an academic year, extend eligibility to part-time staff, and an exchange program - Brenda Smith – Faculty Senate Chair
- o Faculty Senate developed and passed a resolution expressing sincere admiration and gratitude for the professional and positive manner in which the WP Staff responded to the pandemic crisis

- Staff Excellence in University Service Award: – deadline for nominations is Nov 13
- Granvil Vaughan Founders Award: – Deadline for submission of nominee is February 1; Rachel reminded us the nominations do not have to be strictly West Plains community members. We can consider looking outside of the community in our 7-county service area
- Committee Updates:
- Grizzly Strong: Encourage staff to share the “Thank You” messages on social media. Shout-out to Ron Kerns and Vickie Driskell for helping develop the messages
- Grizzly Ambassador Program: Springfield HR has reviewed the final draft. The committee will be meeting on Nov 16 to discuss the next steps
- Staff/Faculty Holiday Potluck: Cancelled this year
- Employee Recognition Luncheon: Discussions for an outdoor event in the spring. Jared polled the group and 79% were comfortable with such an event – more information to follow
- Spring Staff Senate Meetings: Jared polled the group and it was decided to continue zoom meetings on Thursdays
- Staff Emeritus: Margie Griffin was nominated. Jared polled the group and the majority was in favor
- Staff Emeritus Wall Discussions: Jared asked the group to be thinking about if we want to re-visit this idea. More to follow

- HR:
- Flu vaccinations are still available. Please contact Marcie Bean or Karla Bean for availability and scheduling. Immediate family members are not required to be on the MSU medical plan
- Open enrollment for the 2021 benefits year will run from Nov. 1, 2020 through Dec. 1, 2020. Please review your benefits in MyMissouriState under the Profile tab and Employment Details channel
- Missouri State-West Plains faculty and staff have generously contributed $5,450 to date toward the United Way Campaign goal of $6,000. Make your donation today by completing the pledge card and sending it to Alyssa Collins in Kellett Hall by the Dec. 10 deadline
