Chancellor’s Report
- Enrollment Report is showing up 8% in continuing students but down in credit hours. Not yet sure about new students because some are still being processed, but we are in good shape compared to other institutions and he appreciates everyone’s hard work
- Discussions regarding updates to the masking policy – more to come
- Discussions regarding Covid vaccines – more to come
- Projects such as Welding and the addition to Looney Hall are in progress
- Dr. Lancaster asked us all to think of ways to engage students, outside of the classrooms

- COVID Vaccinations- Local COVID-19 vaccination opportunities are available at Ozarks Healthcare and Howell County Health Department. Registration for these vaccinations are done through the state vaccine navigator https://covidvaccine.mo.gov/find/
- Lee Denim Day, October 1 – Alex Graham volunteered to take the lead and it was agreed upon to set a $200 goal for the campaign
- Chili Cook-Off Discussions – It was proposed to reach out to Dawn Dionne in food services to provide Chili, instead of Wendy’s, so the money stays within the university. Jared Cates will follow-up with Dawn and report back
- Springfield Staff Senate Representative volunteer is being sought. Meetings are the first Thursday of every month from 11am – 1pm (Next meeting is Oct 7); Rachel will confirm with Amber Carr to see if anyone showed an interest, before she left her position
- Faculty Senate Representative volunteer being sought – Laurie Wall volunteered to attend this semester and Alex Graham volunteered for next semester
- Budget Committee Representative volunteer being sought – Laurie Wall volunteered
- Academic planners are available as a courtesy of Ozarks Healthcare. Can be picked up in the academic affairs office in Lybyer

- Employee Wellness Opportunities: Nutrition Talks will be offered via Zoom this fall. Sessions are free and immediate family members are welcome to attend. Visit the Nutrition Talks website for more information.
- MSU Performance Management for Supervisors – West Plains: Paula Wilhelm, assistant director of human resources performance-management from the Springfield campus, will host virtual training sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 22. The training will review the processes and resources available to supervisors to assist them in leading their employees, guiding their performance, and addressing issues in the workplace. Both sessions contain the same information. The first Zoom session is from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and the second is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Search under Supervisor Training in My Learning Connection to locate sessions and to register online.
- Flu Vaccination Clinics: Free flu shots will be provided to Missouri State University-West Plains faculty, staff, students, and immediate family members on Tuesday, Sept. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 14. More details will be announced next week.
- Employee Benefits Fair: All full-time and part-time employees are invited to Missouri State University’s Benefits Fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in the Student Recreation Center. Employees will have the opportunity to meet with our various insurance and benefit providers in an informal setting. No appointment is required
