Chancellor’s Report

• Will decide whether to close for weather in the morning on 3/11
• State appropriations for 5.4% increase is still in committee at the state level.
• Administration/Board of Governors wants to raise FT salaries 4% but who knows yet.
• Our enrollment is down, so we are in the hole (approximately $200,000) right now, but we are anticipating increasing enrollment for fall
  • Looking to increase enrollment with Division II woman’s softball & co-ed esports teams, new autism program (Ascend), and correctional students
  • Townhall upcoming with ideas for increasing enrollment—how can we do more?
• Federal budget: MSU has four projects in the pipeline: $2.5 million in focused appropriations
  • Hospital sim training lab in Looney
  • Upgrades to science labs in Melton
• Mo Excels grant monies used for the new nursing lecture hall in Looney for increasing nursing program size
  • Project will be done by fall
• Diversity Commons is looking great

  • Need to meet with employees to do new ADP goals if we haven’t already
  • Q: With so much turnover and departments with nearly entirely new staff, how can we look at previous goals to help guide new ADPs?
  • A: Previous goals are archived, and Paula and Alyssa can screenshot examples of previous ADP goals for the position so new supervisors can create new goals, with the caveat that the goals are still applicable given any changes in the position or the environment

  • New carpet in Melton and Kellett from HERFF funding
  • Next Faculty Senate meeting is April 8 because April 1 is the Interscholastic Competition

President’s Report (Rachel Peterson)

• Battery recycling – Crockett will continue to take used batteries to Springfield for recycling. Collection containers are located in different areas around campus.
• March 30 – Mark Wheeler on campus to discuss our master plan, will meet with Faculty and Staff Senates at 11am in T104-105 and will return on May 11, time TBD
• BOG Excellence in Public Affairs Award – Public Affairs – Missouri State: Please look at the link and forward a name for the award
• Slate of Officers: Need for nominations for President Elect and PT Staff Representative; Kileene has agreed to be Secretary, Alex has agreed to be Treasurer, unless someone else wants to run for those positions
