Chancellor’s Report
- Encourages all to take your vacations
- Waiting for the Governor’s signature on multiple things 1. budget 2. nursing simulation lab 3. ASCEND building
- BOG June 23/24 on our campus –
- Committee meetings Thursday at Magnolia Room – all are welcome.
- Friday morning at 8:30 is the main meeting where it is expected they will approve our LRP and Campus Master Plan
- 4% across the board raise to those hired prior to April 1 is also expected to be approved & notification letters will go out after the approval
- In addition to raises, they are expected to approve a one-time Retention payment to be given at the end of the calendar year
- Springfield Cardinals July 30 at 6:35pm – a ticket for each employee, plus one and possibly a picnic prior to – more to come
- Questions:
- Has there been discussions about an “Active Shooter” training?
- Dennis has asked that question to David Hall in our System Security Dept. in Springfield and will get back to us on his findings

- Enrollment is not looking good at this time, so a reminder, we all need to focus on recruiting

- Anonymous feedback mechanism idea – Available on our Staff Senate Blog: https://blogs.wp.missouristate.edu/staffsenate/wp-admin/index.php Click on ‘Contact us’ – name and email is optional if you want to remain anonymous – Bryan will receive them and will take them to Admin Council
- Volunteering discussions – Admin Council would like to designate a half-day for those employees that would like to volunteer their time – ideas?
- Pick a day & offer the morning and afternoon to allow offices to remain staffed
- List different location options and have people sign up
- Bryan will contact local entities for needs, dates, etc… and will share it so those interested can sign up

- Supervisors are encouraged to express gratitude to all employees in their respective areas.

Other Business/Discussions
- Part-Time Representative – it was asked about naming a Part-time representative to attend Staff Senate meetings. The idea was brought up to offer the position to the recipient of the Part-Time Employee of the Year award. All agreed that would be something to consider
- Who do we send those interested in the GAP program? Bryan Moore for now
- Discussions on going back to in-person meetings – Zoom meetings yield more participation. It was brought up to resume the in-person gatherings where each dept sponsors and provides snacks once a month or however often we decide. Any further ideas send to Bryan, and we will discuss further during our next meeting.
