In Attendance: Vickie Petkovic, Kileene Collins, Alexandra Graham, Trish Smith, Sophia Skinner, Lauren Willis, Trevor Cressman, Mel Steele, Neva Parrott, Tara Shahan, Lora Davis, Alyssa Collins, Jennifer Walker, Marc Cook, Crockett Oaks, Melissa Jett, Deana Bell, Carrie Steen, Biff Bird, Mike Scheidt, Kristi Huff, Kris Brinkerhoff, Marcie Bean, Tanya Miller, Kelly Becker, Mikala King, Christina Hodgson, Michelle Bryan, Heath Lair, and Keri Elrod.

Approval of Agenda – Motion to approve agenda and seconded.

Approval of November Minutes – Motion to approve agenda and seconded.

Chancellor’s Report

  • Dr. Lancaster was not present, no report.

President’s Report (Vickie Petkovic)

  • Staff Senate t-shirts still available in the Drago College Store.
  • Good things from 2023:
    • Student housing was resolved and now all residents are living at the Lofts.
    • Friends of the Garnett Library Cheesecake fundraiser hopefully went well.
    • United Way campaign raised $6,044.
  • President Search Update – 3 candidates will be visiting our campus in February.

President Elect Report (Trish Smith) – no report

Secretary Report (Kileene Collins) – no report

Treasurer Report (Alex Graham) – Waiting for report from Christina Kerley in the business office.

Department Updates, Announcements, and Committee Updates/Reports

  • Committee Reports
    • That Friday Thing (Kelly Becker) – Kelly plans to discuss with the IT staff during their next meeting and will plan an event in February.
  • Departmental Reports
    • Human Resources (Alyssa Collins) – Please RSVP if you plan to attend the Employee Appreciation Luncheon.
    • Workforce Development (Trevor Cressman) – Workforce Development has relocated to Lybyer 104-105 with plans to change the name to Workforce and Community Education, that will consist of non-credit courses and programs. Lybyer 104-105 is being transformed into a Maker Space and the tentative launch date is in August. If you have events already on the schedule for that area, it will still be available to you but please reach out to Trevor prior to the event to have it set-up as needed. If you have ideas for hobby related classes, contact with Trevor.
    • Summer Scholars (Trevor Cressman) – Trevor has formed a committee consisting of some staff and faculty members and they have a meeting scheduled for Feb 6 at 3pm in Lybyer 104-105. If you would like to be involved, contact Trevor.
    • IT – Brightspace is now being used in place of Blackboard.
