Chancellor’s Report
- Budget discussions. Waiting on MO Legislature. Anticipating 3% increase in appropriations which will mean a 4% increase to tuition and a 3% pay increase across the board. We will not know for sure until May.
- Expect a Town Hall in the next 2-3 weeks for important updates.
- The ASCEND building is making great progress. This month is Autism Awareness month. Hope to see you at the movie tonight.

President’s Report (Vickie Petkovic)
- Thank you to the planners and supporters of the Interscholastic Contest last week. It was a great day for our campus and the students/schools who participated. Over 400 students participated.
- ASCEND – Autism Awareness Month continues. Update from Mikala King:
- 31 business/community partners participated in Autism Awareness Day.
- 19 used the sensory spaces during the Eclipse events
- Movie tonight, “In A Different Key” at 7:00 p.m. this evening in the Civic Center theatre. Free and open to the public.
- Solicitations from the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Suggested we support the Heart of the Ozarks United Way. Vickie will prepare a proposal to be voted on during the May meeting.
- That Friday Thing – Big thanks to the IT dept. for hosting the first event last Friday. Vickie may present the idea to her department to host one in May. More to come.
- 2024-2025 Staff Senate officer nominations are being sought:

- Treasurer – Alex Graham agreed to continue.
- Secretary – nominations: None at this time.

- The Grizzly Ambassadors will be visiting the Springfield campus Friday, April 12. The schedule includes tours of the efactory, John Goodman Amphitheatre, Art Annex, Meyer Library, and Ozarks Public Broadcasting.
- The OZH Mobile Mammography Unit will be on campus Tuesday, June 4, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the north Lybyer parking lot. Call 417-257-5912 to schedule an appointment. Preventative screening is available at no cost to female employees over 40 with the MSU health plan.

- Thanks again to all that helped with the Interscholastic Contest.
- Working on admissions and nursing applications, along with some other projects.
- Esports update (CJ Collins)
- Tier 1 teams in Fortnite and Mario Cart are going to the National championships and seeded number 1.
- Tier 2 teams in Mario Cart and Call of Duty 4v4 will be moving to the play-offs and waiting for results of the season for Overwatch 2 teams to see if they made it to the national play-offs.
- Several Tier 3 teams will be competing in the National Tournament.
- Amazon prime members – Every Prime member will receive a channel subscription token at no additional cost to them, which includes Twitch and that can be used to watch the Grizzly e-sports competitions. Tune in to https://twitch.tv/wpgrizzlies to see our games.
- Always A Future For Kids update (CJ Collins)
- Oz Con April 26-28 – volunteers needed.
- Renaissance Fair will be the weekend of October 12 – more to come.

- Friends of the Garnett Library Fashion Show is today. Regular meeting and luncheon tomorrow.
- Open Mic Poetry Night – Tuesday, April 16 at 6:00 p.m., in the Garnett Library. Free and open to the public.
