Chancellor’s Report
- HLC committees are doing great with collecting the data required.
- The Grizzly Volleyball team is going to Nationals – There will be send off for them on Sunday morning at 9 am at the Lofts and all are welcome to join.
- The annual academic affairs holiday potluck is scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Carol Silvey Student Union in Hass-Darr Hall. Please use the survey to sign up for what dish you want to bring. Please contact Teresa Shipley for any questions.
- Reminder if you have leave, take it and don’t lose it.
- One of our Mountain Grove students received one of the racist text messages. Be diligent if you hear of students receiving those, please notify your supervisor immediately.

- Stacy Tintocalis, Executive Director of the Heart of the Ozarks United Way
- The United Way supports non-profit agencies in Howell County and Oregon County – you can cherry pick which agencies you choose your donation monies to go towards. You can write a check or choose payroll deduction.
- Tresa Ryan, Faculty Senate Chair
- Tresa shared the Faculty Senate is currently taking up a collection to go towards the Angel Tree and challenges the Staff Senate to do the same.

- That Friday Thing:
- Due to the holidays, it was decided to put this event off until after the first of the year.
- Mikala King agreed to tentatively plan for ASCEND to host in February, hopefully in their new building.
- Volunteer opportunities:
- Trish is continuing to search for additional opportunities.
- Welcome gifts for new employees
- Trevor could not attend today’s meeting but sent Trish an update: The resin bears are not coming out as well as he had hoped and is looking into a 3-D bear with a wood base.
- Please note that while it’s everyone’s desire to welcome a new staff member with a gift, we will not be able to provide much for a long period of time if we do not make some fundraising ideas a reality. Trish is communicating with Alison Harper in the Foundation department on the Springfield campus. The goal is to get allowable vs. nonallowable fundraising events and she will keep us posted.

- The Grizzly Volleyball team is headed to nationals next week. They are ranked 10th in the nation. Wish them good luck when you see them!
- The Angel Tree has 40 Angels on it. Would you consider giving funds so the Staff Senate can adopt some angels? Sponsors are asked to spend at least $60 and provide at least one toy and clothing item. SGA will do the shopping. As a reminder, our Angel Tree is restricted to the children of our students, so through your generosity, this program has a direct impact on those we seek to serve each day. Kileene Collins has graciously agreed to be the collector of funds.
- On Friday, Nov. 15, the Grizzly Ambassadors will volunteer at Birthday Blessings.
- The next Administrative Council meeting is Wednesday, November 20th. Please let me know if you have any questions or issues to bring before the Council. For the Oct meeting, I will not be able to attend, so please send items to Trevor Cressman, as he will be attending on my behalf. My extension is 57900, and my email address is WPStaffSenate@MissouriState.edu. My office door is always open (Kellett Hall, #203).

- United Way Campaign: Missouri State-West Plains is kicking off the annual United Way Campaign with a goal of $6,500. Your local Heart of the Ozarks United Way directly impacts you and your community. The United Way concept is that working together can make a bigger impact in our community. - Virtual Benefits Fair: Missouri State University is excited to bring you another Virtual Benefits Fair, powered by Airbo, for 2024. You’ll be able to learn about 2025 benefits and open enrollment in a fun, easy format.
- Open Enrollment:Now through Dec. 1: Missouri State University’s open enrollment for the 2025 benefits year will run from Nov. 1, 2024, through Dec. 1, 2024. Even if you don’t have changes, you should complete open enrollment to review your plan(s) for accuracy, verify that your personal information is current, and make sure you have beneficiaries updated.
- Save up to $360 on your annual health insurance premiums!: To qualify for the full 2025 wellness incentive, full-time health plan members can earn a $30 monthly incentive by completing any two (2) of the following by Dec. 1, 2024.
