Call to Order

Approval of Agenda – Motion made to approve the agenda. Seconded, and all approved.

Approval of July Meeting Minutes – Motion made to approve the July meeting minutes. Seconded, and all approved.

Chancellor’s Report (Zora Mulligan)

• Chancellor Mulligan could not attend the meeting.

President’s Report (Trevor Cressman)

• Staff Senate Meeting Changes
  • Discussions to move back to in-person meetings beginning in September.
  • Trevor launched a poll and the results were:
    • 33 Responses
      • 23 yes
      • 8 no
      • 2 abstained
• Staff Senate Committees
  • Activities Committee – Trevor suggested forming a committee to head up activities for staff. It could include volunteer opportunities, gatherings, and events such as bringing back the Chili Cook-Off.
  • The motion was made by Rebekah McKinney and seconded by Luke Hurtt.
  • Trevor launched a poll and the results were:
    • 29 yes
    • 0 no
    • 3 abstained
  • Trevor will follow-up with forming a committee.
• Email/Calendar Invites
  • Trevor will begin sending out the calendar invites earlier to give staff more time to plan to attend.
  • Trevor will post the meetings in the Blog.
  • Please let Trevor know if anyone in your department is not receiving the Staff Senate emails.
• Mandatory Safety Training
  • Reminder to complete the 3-part “Preparing for Emergencies” training.
• Parking Passes
  • Parking passes are available for purchase in the business office in Cass Hall.
• Volunteer Opportunities
  • Welcome Week activities next week. Contact Luke Hurtt if interested.
  • Move-in Day greeters this Friday and Saturday, Aug. 15 & 16. A link to sign up Residence Life: Move-In Help
• Items around campus to be addressed
  • If you notice anything around campus that needs to be addressed or brought forward to Admin. Council, please let Trevor know so he can follow-up on the concerns.

  • Performance Review Training:
    • A new online system for the Appraisal and Planning (ADP) process launches September 2. The performance review system is accessed via the Performance Tab in My Learning Connection. Virtual HR Live training sessions for both supervisors and employees begin September 2; register in My Learning Connection by searching “ADP” or “supervisor.” Visit the updated HR–Employee Relations webpage for more information about the release and updates.

  • OHRC Event: Methods of Transportation in the Ozarks and the American West presentation. Aug 19 Cowboy Rick Hamby and Dennis Crider will be presenting at 6pm in the Garnett Library.

  • Flu and biometrics clinics are scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, and Thursday, October 30. More details forthcoming.
  • The annual Employee Benefits Fair will be Thursday, October 30 from 9:00-Noon in the Student Recreation Center.
  • Benefits Open Enrollment will be November 1-December 1.
