Darrell Hampsten called the meeting to order.
Chancellor Bennett gave an update about the upcoming HLC visit. He encouraged us to know the mission statement and to be open and honest with the HLC team.
He also emphasized the importance of keeping our enrollment/recruitment efforts up.
It looks as though we will get an increase in state funding this year.

Old Business:
Darrell handed out some Staff Senate Mugs and welcomed some very new, and some not-so-new hires. Aileen Gonzales, Ping He, Mary Maupin, Sharoth Rongali
The annual auction is April 11th. If anyone can help with it Amanda Niemotka is coordinating that effort.
New Business:
Darrell Hampsten has accepted a new position at Moberly and his last day at MSU-WP will be April 11.
Chulapol Thanomsing will assume the Staff Senate presidency at that time. Chulapol shared some of his plans for staff senate during the next year. He would like to have a Distinguished Staff wall along with the Distinguished Faculty wall in Melton Hall. He is also working on identifying new funding sources for us so we might have more money to work with. He would like to review the Staff Handbook.
We will be gathering nominations for new officer elections. We will elect a new Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer. Any nominations should be forwarded to Chulapol.
Alyssa Collins informed us that Dr. Bennett had approved the nomination of Veronica Mays as Staff Emeritus. Jill Stephens made the motion that the Staff Senate proceed and the motion was passed.
There will be a memorial service for Veronica Mays at the Civic Center on Saturday, April 5. A scholarship is being established in her name and memorial donations may be made either to the West Plains Animal Shelter or to the scholarship fund.
Mary Kellum reported that TRiO is taking applications for students to participate in the Career Readiness training.
We need nominations for students in various categories for the Celebration of Leaders.
The next meeting will be April 18 at 10:30 in Cass Hall.
