Chancellor’s Update: Dr. Shirley Lawler
- Our focus & top priority is enrollment. Dr. Lawler challenges everyone on campus to try to bring in at least one student. She has sent out a couple of different email blasts, beginning radio announcements and newspaper ads. Another focus is on program development and how to grow our academic programs.
- Hass-Darr projected completion date is now mid-August but no guarantees.
- Board of Governors approved a one-time $700 retention payment that will be included in our August paychecks.
- Aug. 18 Move-in day at the Grizzly House and Lofts. Volunteers are needed.
President’s Administrative Council Report:
- Aug. 18 Alumni game at 3pm
- Welcome Week Aug. 20-24
- Grizzly Booster Club membership drive is ongoing
- Sept. 8 BBQ, Hall of Fame ceremony and first home volleyball game
- Sept. 14 Grizzly Golf tournament (Contact Kileene or Dr. Totty to get signed up!)

Secretary’s Report:
- Kileene will not be in attendance during the August meeting. CJ Collins volunteered to take the minutes
Treasurer’s Report:
- $1,343.50 (reported to Secretary during side-bar)
New Business:
- Travel Reimbursement Form: Committee (CJ Collins, Christina Kerley and Alex Graham)
- Committee will research and touch base with Springfield for clarification on the form in regards to the $10 limit when meal money is used
- Staff Emeritus: Motion made, seconded and carried to request emeritus status to Dana Racer
Diversity Activity:
CJ Collins shared the importance of looking at someone for who they are instead of their outward appearance.
Old Business:
- Monday Denim & Grizzly Gear – presented by Rachel Peterson. Motion made, seconded and carried for the idea to be presented to Dr. Lawler & Admin. Council
- Once approved, a survey will be disbursed to entire staff and to include all faculty, if they so choose to do so. Survey question ideas:
- Should we request jeans to be worn on days indicated “No classes/offices open” and to include Spring break?
- Would you donate $50 per year or $1 per week to wear denim with Grizzly Gear (Mondays)?
- If yes, should those funds raised go toward creating a Staff Senate book scholarship?
- If yes, should those funds raised go toward donating to different community organizations annually?
- If yes, should those funds raised go toward both a scholarship and community organizations?
- If yes to donation, should (staff/faculty) tshirt be included as part of the donation to indicate donation given?
- If no, would you purchase a tshirt for $7-10 from the bookstore if it designates staff/faculty on the back?
